H&H Advising: Two Stories, one fit

Arriving from two separate and fulfilling journeys, Chad and Jay sought their unique fit and created H&H Advising. Their motivation is unlocking the tremendous human potential to make positive and lasting change in our communities.

Their reward is facilitating insightful discovery that leads to confident and joyful philanthropy – and the infinite, ripple effects of that giving. Their attention to detail creates clear, well-structured plans for action. Their clients - individuals, families, and their advisors – leave their H&H engagement feeling clear, energized, and finding the best expression of their charitable intent.

The CAP® credential is for financial and nonprofit professionals focused on the best strategies for philanthropic planning. In addition to mastering the financial details involved in different forms of charitable giving, CAP® designees gain critical interpersonal skills needed to guide clients and donors from philanthropic aspiration to positive social impact.

Jay Hunsberger has spent a lifetime helping people discover what matters most and align their actions around it.

Across his career and life journey, he artfully developed a signature ability to bring people together, facilitate meaningful conversations, and help individuals and families translate their values into purposeful action.

Throughout his 30-year career as a classical musician, his discipline and creativity garnered accolades on stage in Sarasota, Florida, performing and teaching around the globe, and as an award-winning recording artist. He worked closely with board members, executive staff and high-capacity donors, helping them find focus and alignment towards common goals. At the heart of his university tenure was his strength at unlocking the full potential of his students through clarifying and magnifying their strengths and passions.

Later, his work in hospitality and luxury wine sharpened his appreciation for thoughtful experiences, relationship stewardship, and the importance of details. Those lessons became foundational to the H&H philosophy that Everything Speaks.

Jay is a Certified Advisor in Philanthropy (CAP®), has completed the Effective Philanthropy for Advisors program through Stanford PACS and Advisors in Philanthropy, and completed the Empowering Generosity program through the Indiana University Lily Family School of Philanthropy. He is an avid gardener, puzzle aficionado, and adventurous hiker.

About Our Images - We believe that place matters. When we meet with clients to explore the impact they want to create, we are intentional to select a place of significance - where they are most joyful, at home, or most inspired. In that spirit, the landscape images that make up this site were all photographed by Chad in places that speak to us. We hope you find them inspiring too.

Everything Speaks

If philanthropy is deeply personal, then the experience of creating it should be too. Every interaction communicates something. Every detail shapes an experience. Every touchpoint is an opportunity to build trust, demonstrate care, and reinforce what matters. We call this Everything Speaks.

It's why we think carefully about every aspect of how we work.

From how we prepare for every conversation to the quality of the materials we place in a client's hands.

Every detail is an intentional expression of respect for the people we serve and the aspirations they are pursuing.

Because when something matters, the experience should reflect it.
